Looking for Open2.net?

If you've been looking for Open2.net, don't worry - you're in the right place...

Copyrighted Image The Open University Screengrab of the old Open2 site Open2.net fades away... For ten years, give or take, Open2.net was the online home of Open University and BBC programming. Over the last few months, though, we've been moving into OpenLearn, creating one home for all The Open University's free learning content. It means we share a home with LearningSpace, the Open University's iTunesU and YouTube channels, and much more besides.

You can use the navigation at the top of this page to explore what we have on offer. There's lots to do - you could watch Evan Davis exploring the state of British manufacturing; explore the frozen planet; get to know the science and history of the Olympics or have a look at our free courses in LearningSpace.

Most of the content from Open2.net has been brought across; if you've landed here after typing or searching for an Open2.net URL then you're probably looking for something that fitted into one of these categories:

Open2 forums

We still want you to join in, comment and share your views. But OpenLearn encourages you to comment on the content you're reading, rather than travel off to a different part of the site. Some of the more interesting Open2 debates have been imported; and comments on the Open2 pages have been brought across, too.

Open2 blogs

All the blog content from Open2 is here on OpenLearn - it might be that you're trying to find a specific URL for the content that isn't being recognised by OpenLearn. You could try searching for the article here.

Other Open2 pages

Although most Open2 content came across, some pages - such as those which were only designed to help navigate the site  - were not imported. If you're looking for something specific, you could try searching for the article here.

If you can't find something and would like us to look into why, alert us through the comments section on this page.

Openlearn Moderator

Hi,

We have had some problems with people trying to order using Internet Explorer, could you possibly try again using either Google Chrome or Firefox, alternatively you can call 0845 366 0252 (charged at a local rate) and order over the phone.

Many thanks

This online learning system

This online learning system is really helpful in guiding people find their courses and study without going to an actual school. I hope there is way for me to study medical courses this way. Somehow I believe it's never going to happen and my dream of becoming a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon will not be achieved.

Hi just a thought, I found there was no opportunity to answer that you had no or negative parental help and or income etc..(and I dont mean low income or too busy parents!) and I found it interesting that the experts rated it so important in order to create the perfect Olympian. Indeed my partner who scored silver in the quiz, was beating the adult champions at 14 in new Zealand at archery but unfortunately without parents to buy the equipment/ help with travel he stopped competing.Indeed they turned him away at the national championships because he wasn't wearing the required "whites" t shirts etc.! Or was it because they feared he would beat the lot of em?Lets hope things have improved for the young, talented but underprivileged kids of today-though I doubt it.

I enrolled to do the above course but it doesn't appear to be available. Has anyone had any success finding the course material? I have completed the Living with Diabetes Course SK120_2. Thanks!

Openlearn Moderator

Hi Janette,

The link through to SK120_1 is here - http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=2651 I've checked it and it seems to be working fine, if you do have problems could you possibly try using a different browser e.g. Google Chrome or FireFox, hopefully this will solve the problem.

If you are still experiencing problems accessing the unit please email us using openlearn@open.ac.uk and one of our technical team will pick the problem up and try to resolve it.

Many thanks and I hope you enjoy the unit.
