Kilmartin Glen is 10 minutes drive north of Lochgilphead in Argyll, on the A816. These directions will guide you along the route of the Kilmartin Glen audio walk. Why not print out this page and take it with you?

The walk will take several hours if you're stopping and listening to the audio. The route is fairly flat, but there are stiles so it's unsuitable for wheelchair users. The path to the standing stones and the final cairn can be quite boggy, so appropriate footwear is essential. A mobile phone is always helpful in case of emergencies.

It's a good idea to take a compass and a proper map of the whole area in case you need to find an alternative route to the one described. For example, the Ordnance Survey's '358 Explorer-Active Map' and '55 Landranger Map' cover the area of the walk.

Point 1: Kilmartin House Museum

Walk to the front of the museum, and out onto the pavement. Turn left, walk down the hill, and turn left again after the garage. Follow the forestry track towards the trees. At the trees, take the footpath that forks off to the left, and continue till you get to the wooden bridge on your left.

Keep walking right along the track for 10-15 minutes until you pass Kilmartin Primary school on your right, and come to a tarmac road. Join this road, bearing right. Keep walking until you reach Nether Largie South cairn.
