Intermediate Italian: La famiglia

Unit image

This unit is aimed at learners who already speak some Italian and/or who have completed a beginners’ Italian course either at the OU or elsewhere. You will practise your listening and speaking skills, as well as reading and writing. The focus of the unit is the family in Italy; you will see and hear people in Italy talking about their families, read about families in Italy and practise speaking or writing about families in your own country. You will use mio, tuo suo, etc. to talk about family members and use the past tenses to talk about important family events in the past. You will also learn about the Italian language and the other languages spoken in Italy. The unit contains interactive language activities based mainly on video clips filmed in Italy and audio extracts.

This unit is an adapted extract from the Open University course Vivace: intermediate Italian (L150) [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] .
