In the article four aspects of resilience are highlighted, namely:

  • latitude
  • resistance
  • precariousness
  • panarchy.

Weller and Anderson suggest that by considering each of these aspects with respect to a particular digital change, an organisation, or an individual, can identify how prepared they are for the changes as well as what areas they need to address. The article gives examples for considering how The Open University is prepared for the impact of MOOCs, using the scoring system set out above.
