Vienna: An interactive map of the city

Updated Tuesday 15th November 2016

Explore Vienna, a city with a long history and a rich variety of culture.

Vienna is a city with a long history and a rich variety of culture. Visitors can find many different places of interest: traces of history, culinary spaces, and places to be active.

If you are interested in the history of Vienna, click on the blue icons with three squares. These indicate hidden places where traces of the past were left over the nearly 2,000 years of the city’s history.

For those interested in sports activities, the green 'swimming' icons will reveal places for swimming and bathing: some historical, some modern, but all of them an integral part of life in the city of Vienna.

If your interest is culinary, the red 'knife and fork' icons will show you a selection of cafés. Each location gives you a short description of the café and some facts and stories about the Viennese “Kaffeehauskultur”, or the art of living in a café that has been awarded UNESCO status as intangible cultural heritage.

Our selection is limited and subjective. Feel free to suggest other places of interest or discuss our suggestions in the comments section below. You can also vote for your favourite place in the poll at the end of this activity.

Vote for your favourite location

Perhaps you've visited Vienna, and you already have a favourite location. Or maybe one of the descriptions in the map fascinated you more than the others. Whatever the reason, vote for your favourite in the poll below.
