Read Dr Kate Woodthorpe’s biography.

Kate Woodthorpe is a former Open University lecturer; she's now a lecturer in sociology at the Centre for Death and Society at the University of Bath. She has a particular interest in contemporary death, dying and bereavement practices. She is convenor of the British Sociological Association's social aspects of death, dying and bereavement study group, and is a judge for the Cemetery Of The Year Awards.
