John Murray has been working for nearly 40 years studying the active volcanoes of Mount Etna. John Murray has been working for nearly 40 years studying the active volcanoes of Mount Etna. He commenced a long-term study in 1975, the longest continuous study of an active volcano conducted by an individual. John predicted the 1983 eruption a year before it happened.
