Biography

Read Professor Anne Murcott’s biography.

Anne Murcott is Special Professor at the University of Nottingham, Honorary Visiting Professor at City University, and Professor Emerita in sociology of health at South Bank University. Her background is in social anthropology and sociology; and within these, she has written books and articles on various aspects of food, diet and culture.
Anne also served as director of the Economic & Social Research Council's six year Programme 'The Nation's Diet,' and edited an associated volume under the same title which was published by Longman in 1998.
