Professor Keri Facer

Keri Facer is professor of education at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research interests lie in the fields of socio-technical change, educational futures and digital cultures. She started her career at the Graduate School of Education at Bristol University where she spent four years as a researcher and lecturer. Her work included a range of major innovative research projects, such as ESRC projects Screen Play and InterActive Education. From 2002 to 2008, she was director of learning research at NESTA Futurelab, the UK's independent R&D lab for education.
Keri has published widely in the field of children's digital cultures, with a particular focus on how young people use and learn with digital technologies in the home. Her current projects range from a research residential with the Baltic Contemporary Art Gallery in Gateshead, to examinations of new approaches to curriculum design and innovation working with the RSA and Creative Partnerships. She continues to be a visiting fellow at Bristol University.
