Biography

Read Professor Paul Davies’s biography.

Paul Davies is professor of natural philosophy at the Australian Centre for Astrobiology at Macquarie University in Australia. He is well known as a broadcaster and public lecturer, and has written over 25 books (popular and specialist), many of which have been translated into several different languages. A regular writer for newspapers, journals and magazines in several countries, he has been a longstanding contributor to, among others: The Economist; The Guardian; The New York Times; and New Scientist. His research has ranged from the origin of the universe to the origin of life, and includes the properties of black holes, the nature of time and quantum field theory. Most recently, his book The Origin of Life has been published by Penguin.
