Biography

Read Professor Peter Thomson’s biography.

Peter Thomson is emeritus professor of drama at the University of Exeter. He is the author of Shakespeare’s Theatre and Shakespeare’s Professional Career, General editor of the three-volume Cambridge History of British Theatre. He is also a research associate of the ongoing New Dictionary of National Biography. His other publications include three books on Bertolt Brecht, editions of Julius Caesar and the plays of Dion Boucicault, and (declaring a special interest) On Actors and Acting. What he would really like to write, though, is a book on cricket.
