Kate Humble: Okay, so just explain what you’re doing holding that thing out of the window of the car?
Ellen McCallie: Okay, so what we’re trying to do is calibrate this wind measuring device, wind speed measuring device, with the amount of current that’s produced.
Kate: Okay.
Ellen: Now to do that, what we need you to do is drive at consistent speed so I can see what that corresponds to in terms of current.
Kate: Oh fine, okay, so where do want me to start?
Ellen: Well if you can start at about 5.
Kate: Crikey, hold on.
Ellen: Okay, how about creeping?
Kate: Okay, I’m just, I should think at about 5 there.
Ellen: Are you at 5?
Kate: Yeah. I’m having to guess because it’s not on this.
Ellen: 6. Okay, that’s good.
Kate: Okay.
Ellen: 10 please.
Kate: Okay. That’s, ooh hold on, there we go, that’s 10.
Ellen: Okay.
Kate: Up to 15?
Ellen: Please then.
Kate: Okay, that’s 15.
Ellen: Okay. 20 please.
Kate: That’s 20.
Ellen: 32.
Ellen: Wow, that’s going to give me a pretty straight line, which means on the day that we need to send the postcard to Kate I’ll be able to read what the current is and immediately know the wind speed. That’s fabulous.
