Watched the new series on Deptford High Street and found it fascinating. I lived in Deptford from 1940 to 1957 and our family were called the Purdies and were involved in selling wet fish in the High Street. The changes in the area are incredible. Our house in Adolphus Street was pulled down to make way for flats so everything was totally changed. My sister and I always call ourselves "Deptford Girls".
