In partnership with various local organizations, the Map Kibera team launched Voice of Kibera to visualize reporting in and about Kibera (one of the largest slums in Africa)".

It was initiated by non-governmental organisations/charities and social movement activists and encourages people to participate through an online platform and citizens' reporting. Voice of Kibera is local in orientation and concerned with neighbourhood & community

It was launched in 2010 and is ongoing.

This page is part of Participation Now, a project that brings together a diverse collection of participatory public engagement initiatives with the aim of supporting exploration, learning and engagement. Explore the collection of initiatives or read more about the project.
