Genealogy is researching your family history and ancestors. You need to collect all the information and family documents you can find to start the search; you should also ask your relatives for any information they can remember about events and people. Collect letters and photographs and keep notes of all the information you gather. The further back the information dates from, the more vague it’s likely to become, so you'll benefit from referring to books on genealogy to help you. There are lots of organisations who can help and an ever-increasing number of books and websites offering advice and techniques on the search for your family history.
