The Open University and the BBC come together to bring you a weekly round-up of the latest thinking on the social sciences.

This week, Laurie Taylor talks to Owen Jones, whose book Chavs: Demonisation Of The Working Class explores the way poorer Britains have been turned into an 'other'.

Also, how is it that Goths remain Goths when their contemporaries have moved on from youth culture?

This edition of Thinking Allowed is a co-production between the BBC and The Open University. You can hear it on BBC Radio 4 at 4pm on Wednesday 29th June, 2011 and again at a quarter past midnight on Monday morning, 4th July. Further broadcast details, podcast and listen again links are at bbc.co.uk.
