As the Dutch footballer Dennis Bergkamp once said, "behind every kick of the ball there has to be a thought." With World Cup fever spreading, we delve into the substance behind the beautiful game and its most famous tournament with a strategic shoot-out game that gives you the chance to find out what it takes to kick the perfect penalty. We will also be updating this site with a range of blog posts from Open University academics on the World Cup.
