It seems the impression of several gentlemen and magistrates with whom I have conversed that many Chartists are prowling about the country and doing a great deal of mischief. Numbers of strangers are about who conduct themselves suspiciously. I much doubt, however, if such be the case, whether they meet with any success. It is difficult to stuff the head of a Welsh farmer, who speaks and reads only Welsh, with the political crotchets of Chartism.
