5.13 Do we have any control over climate impacts in the future?

We have no control over the 0.6°C increase that will occur between 2000 and 2030.

Increases after 2030 depend on the emissions that we produce every day from now on and how quickly we use up the total global carbon budget of around 1000 GtCO₂ available to 2050 (or the 500 billion tonnes of C, or 1835 GtCO₂ available to the global population up to 2500).
