Installing your software

If you are having difficulty installing your Sense software and/or drivers, please select your operating system below and click on ‘Reveal comment’. Please note that we only support Internet Explorer and Firefox; if you are having problems with your installation and you are using a different browser then the first thing to try may be switching to one of these two browsers.

Windows 7 and Vista

  1. If you were unable to run the installer from your browser, as described in the instructions:

    • a.Download the file again by right-clicking on the link and selecting Save Link/Target As… from the menu.
    • b.This should give you a dialogue box where you can select a location for the file to be downloaded (it is probably easiest if you choose your desktop).
    • c.Once the download is complete, use the File Explorer to navigate to the download location and double-click on the TU100_Sense_installer.exe file to start the installation.
  2. If a Found New Hardware dialogue box is displayed, asking to install driver software for ‘FT232R USB UART’, select the option to ‘Locate and install driver software (recommended)’.
  3. If a Windows security dialogue box appears, stating that ‘Windows needs your permission to install software’, click on ‘Continue’. The installation of the first driver will then proceed in the background – note that this may take some time. You can check the progress of the task by clicking the system tray icon.
  4. Once the ‘FT232R USB UART’ has been installed, if another Found New Hardware dialogue box is displayed, asking to install driver software for ‘USB Serial Port’, again select the option to ‘Locate and install driver software (recommended)’.
  5. If a Windows security dialogue box appears, stating that ‘Windows needs your permission to install software’, again click on ‘Continue’. The installation of the second driver will then proceed in the background – note that again this may take some time. You can check the progress of the task by clicking the system tray icon.

Note that when you first plug the SenseBoard in, you may see another Found New Hardware dialogue box – follow the same steps as above.

  1. If you were unable to run the installer from your browser, as described in the instructions:

    • a.Download the file again by right-clicking or control-clicking on the link and selecting Save Link/Target As… from the menu.
    • b.This should give you a dialogue box where you can select a location for the file to be downloaded (it is probably easiest if you choose your desktop or your existing ‘Downloads’ folder).
    • c.Once the download is complete, use the Finder to navigate to the download location and double-click on the TU100_Sense_installer disk image to open it. Then in the resultant Finder window, double-click on each of the three package installers in turn to install the relevant components. When this is complete, you can drag the ‘TU100 Sense installer for Mac OS 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7’ disk to the Trash, but you may want to keep the disk image in case you need to reinstall.
