This website from Becta gives advice about the Ofsted framework and its focus on safeguarding. When gathering evidence for an Ofsted inspection, schools, colleges and other children’s services must actively monitor the impact of their e-safety policies as part of their wider safeguarding strategies.
Reflection
Note that this website states that Ofsted are encouraging schools to manage the transition from locked down systems to more managed systems and not simply blocking or banning content. But schools need to balance this more open system with ensuring that learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge to use technology safely and responsibly. How could you start doing this even at Key Stage 1?
