Developing Open Education Policy in Scottish Higher Education

Relatively few Scottish higher education institutions have adopted formal policy on open education and open educational practice.  However, for institutions working on developing an institutional policy there are useful examples and some helpful guidelines to draw on.

Glasgow Caledonian University’s policy is published under a creative commons license and draws on the framework established by the University of Leeds in 2012.

University staff from across Scotland have contributed to the The Scottish Open Education Declaration which also draws on policy recommendations developed by the POERUP Project in their Country Option Pack for Scotland.
