Research is essential, whether you're in a downturn or an upswing.  Research tells you what your customers think about you, your product, your service, research helps you uncover insights and new information to raise your game, improve the quality of your app, so research has never been more important and there are a zillion different types of research to choose from.  But research always will be important in driving a business.
