Last week we explored how authentication works and the role of passwords in protecting online identities and digital information. Now you're armed with different ways of improving your password security, including password managers and two-factor authentication. This week we'll be looking at another common way the computer systems are compromised, which is through the use of malicious software or malware. By the end of the week you'll be able to describe the different types of malware and their key characteristics, as well as how malware gains access to computer systems, and which steps you can take to prevent your own computer from being infected.
