Long description
This is a composite image of three book covers:
The first book cover is for Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. The cover has the author’s name at the top, and the title in a larger font in the bottom quarter. Below the title is the text: ‘Foreword by Geraldine McCaughrean’. The illustration shows a boy in bright green clothes with sparks of yellow around him. His arms are lifted as he flies above an island, sea, and sailing ship below.
The second book cover is for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. The cover has the text: ‘Winner of the Whitbread Book of the Year’ in white at the very top. Under this is the author's name; this is also in white but uses a handwriting font in capitals. In the same font above the central illustration is the text: The Curious Incident. Below the illustration of a brown dog on its back, speared by a gardening fork, is the rest of the title: of the Dog in the Night-Time. At the bottom the cover is the text: ‘Outstanding... a stunningly good read’ quoted from The Independent.
The third book cover is for When We Were Very Young by A.A. Milne. The cover has the title in large green text centred over four lines. Below this is the author’s name, and the text: ‘with decorations by E.H. Shepard’. Circling the text are eight illustrations at regular intervals. These illustrations show (clockwise): two dancers; a small boy holding a flat; a knight on a horse; a figure in a blue dress; Winnie-the-Pooh bending over a newspaper; a figure in a pink dress; a blue convertible car; a figure skipping. Along the bottom of the cover there is a gold-coloured bar, containing a silhouette of Winnie-the-Pooh walking with Piglet, with the tagline ‘The bear for all ages’.
