CHARLOTTE:

I'm Charlotte. I'm a teaching assistant in a reception class, and I've been doing this for about four years now. Before that, I was a parent helper at school when my three children were here. I really enjoyed working with the children, so I did a level three teaching assistant course.

I love to read with the children one to one or in small groups, but I'm not so keen on reading to the whole class. I was never very keen on reading myself, so in school, I like to read the books that were my children's favorites, like The Gruffalo and Aliens Love Underpants. I know these ones by heart. I'm sure there must be lots of great books that the children would love, but I don't know where to start. How do I know which books are good quality or which ones they'll like and which they won't?
