PAYAM REZAIE
Welcome to Session 7. Let's briefly recap on the last two sessions before looking forward to what lies ahead. In Session 5, we looked at some fundamental skills needed for postgraduate study, how to search for information, evaluate sources, keep up to date, and be able to cite and reference sources appropriately. In Session 6, we also looked at issues related to copyright, intellectual property, and academic integrity, and explored ways in which group work and feedback can operate to support learning in an online, asynchronous environment.
In this, the penultimate session of the course, we turn our attention again to the topic of reflection, focusing this time on reflective writing and reflective practice, and provide you with examples of how critical and reflective thinking can be applied in different academic disciplines and professional contexts. We look at health and social care, business and management, education, and science.
In the final session, we conclude by considering some important barriers to critical thinking and prepare you to apply your critical thinking skills by comparing and evaluating arguments and perspectives on particular issues. By the end of Session 8, you should be suitably well-prepared and equipped with the necessary skills to be able to move on to and succeed in your postgraduate studies. Thanks for listening. You're all set to begin Session 7.
