Welcome to Week 5 of this course, the second of the two social science weeks. Last week you were looking at identity. Who’d have thought Popeye would have so much to say about that! But this week the focus moves on to looking at how where you live can affect your life chances, and to do that we’ve contrasted two families. Now within families the role of women’s work has always been important, so this week the question is, has that changed?
