The aim of our Philosophy, Politics and Economics tool is to allow you to investigate how work carried out in these disciplines interacts and interlinks. The map in the centre of the screen contains dots where you can find information about a context, a concept or a person.
Watch the video below and then get started:
There are three main ways to explore the information:
Via the Map
- Click on a dot and you can see the title of the node and what else it links to.
- Click on that title and you can learn more about this node. You can read the commentary and discover which other nodes it has relationships with.
- Clicking on the plus symbols means they will be highlighted or ‘pinned’ on the map when you return.
Via the categories
- You can click on the drop down menus for people, concepts or contexts.
- If you click on any title from any one of these lists it will reveal the details of this node, and you can then read further details about it and discover which other nodes it has relationships with.
Via narratives
- This is perhaps the easiest way to explore the information in PPE and a good way to find your way around the tool.
- If you click on the Narrative drop down you can access narratives that link together various different nodes in the map. If you select a narrative it will take you through a collection of nodes, explaining how they are related.
