    An OpenSTEM online summer school providing you with an introduction to several analytical techniques in chemistry via four online investigations Measuring the level of nitrates in spring water UVVis spectroscopy Pesticides in the environment GCMS Pharmaceutical compounds in drinking water HPLC Exploring the composition of planetary atmospheres Infrared The analytical method for each technique was covered as well as general techniques such as preparing calibration standards and constructing a calibration curve Investigations were completed online either via an interactive screen experiment or via remote instrumentation HPLC and IR which included recording data and observations plotting graphs and interpreting results To gain the badge you must have successfully completed at least three of the four investigations and the associated quiz
