This free course, Creative writing and critical reading, explores the importance of reading as part of a creative writer’s development at the postgraduate level. You will gain inspiration and ideas from examining other writers’ methods, as well
as enhancing your critical reading skills. Examples will cover the genres of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry and scriptwriting.

Opened my eyes to how influenced my writing style is by the various forms of media I consume on a day to day basis. I am more aware of how one particular style of work can change how I write and that pacing, point of view and even the dialogue used can be improved by such influences.
