These animations explore how we differ from other animals in passing on our culture, our knowledge, our skills, not just in face to face interactions, but across generations to strangers we’ve never met. They also look at Karl Marx's belief  that work is what makes us human.

What about language? Other animals communicate, but they don’t have anything approaching the sophisticated grammar of human languages. The last animation looks at while what makes me human is that we're members of the species homo sapiens, what makes someone the same person over time?
