Long description

A large, footed, terracotta pot with two handles close to the base. The pot is decorated with figures painted in black, which contrasts with the terracotta-coloured background. In the centre are two warriors, depicted in profile, carrying round shields and pointing spears at one another. Both wear crested helmets. At their feet lies the naked body of a fallen warrior. Other warriors carrying spears and wearing helmets stand behind the two central figures. The pot also has a decorative floral pattern at the rim, and images of lions around the base.
