This is a photograph of a colourful plate, especially greens and blues, with a gold rim. On the left hand side is Actaeon, standing upright on human legs but with a stag’s head, being bitten by two hunting dogs. On the right there is a fountain with two tiers full of water. In the bottom tier five women stand, naked and with expressions of shock on their faces, looking towards Actaeon. The rest of the plate is filled in with the background, a forest scene with a lake and mountains behind. Some houses can be seen in the mountains and there are clouds overhead.
