This is a photograph of two facing pages of a book. On the left-hand page simple sentences are arranged in groups of three, such as: ‘The Man digs well. / The Boy plows well. / The Girl sews fast.’ On the right-hand page are longer moral messages, such as ‘Boys and Girls who will not work when they may, will go in rags all their lives’.
