Many films don't get beyond the development stage. They are abandoned. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe they weren't good enough. There is a longstanding and exacting process to sift through film ideas so that they are in a ready state to convince financiers to part with their money. This week, you'll see that the development process can involve many different people and many different business activities, creative, legal, budgeting. And can be very, very long. We'll be meeting some of them. And finally, we have our first instalment from our case study movie, Spooks, the Greater Good. We'll be hearing a lot from them throughout the course. This week, the team tells us about how their film came about.
