As you have already seen in this session, texts are written with a particular audience in mind. The way the writer of the text arranges their message can add extra meaning.
Some texts have a title that tells you what they are about. Some will also have smaller headings. These are like signposts to help you find information in the text. For example, the headings in this online session are listed in the menu on the left. They act as signposts to particular parts of the session and allow you to find what you want easily.
The way the text is written will usually tell you who is meant to read it and why it was written.
