(Description) Figure 5 Pages from the schoolmaster’s journal at Littledean House of Correction, Gloucestershire. The schoolmaster recorded attendance and gave an account of what was covered in lessons. The entry for 16 January 1851 reads ‘1st class read in “Davy’s Village Conversations” [a religious text] on the Catechism. 2 class read in East reading in Tablet Lessons. All said their catechism.’
