Figure 65 is a drawing of a blow torch being used to heat two flat pieces of material which are being joined using liquid solder. The pieces of sheet are placed such that one piece overlaps the other. A stick of solder is held at the edge of the top sheet and on the top surface of the bottom sheet. A flame from a torch is shown heating the solder. Solder is shown between the two sheets supported by the statement that 'liquid solder flows into gap by capillary action'.
