Figure 80 is a line drawing of a hand holding a pair of curved rods against a pair of frog's legs which have been detached, complete with the lower part of the torso. The legs are shown hanging limply down vertically and the spinal cord is shown protruding up from the torso. The upper curved rod, labelled 'brass', is hooked through the spinal cord. The lower curved rod, labelled 'iron', is touching the lower part of one of the frog's legs. The hand is holding the other two ends of the rods together between its fingers and thumb. An outline of the frog's legs bent at the hips and knees, as if they have been lifted up, is drawn using dotted lines and positioned behind the drawing of the legs.
