Figure 87 is a close up photograph of the bow of a ship just above the water line. At the water line the paint is completely missing and the surface is covered in rust. Along the front edge of the bow a lot of the paint is missing and rust shows through in many places. Further back on the side of ship, scratching has also produced lines of rust.
