Figure 93 is a photograph of a solar thermal panel installed on a sloping tiled roof. The panel comprises 30 glass tubes arranged next to each other laid down the slope of the roof, each about a metre long and about 80 mm in diameter. The tops of the tubes are connected together by a long black rectangular beam. Each tube is attached by U-bolts to two slats that go across the width of the panel between the tubes and the roof. The overall effect is of an oversized central heating radiator lying on a roof.
