Figure 5 is the yield curve for UK government bonds (or ‘gilts) as at 16 December 2013. The yield curve is a line graph linking the yields on gilts of various terms to maturity (redemption) from 3 months to 30 years. The yield curve is upward-sloping (rising) with yields rising the longer the term to maturity.
