Week 6: Planets galore: the contents of the Milky Way

Completion requirements

This diagram shows roughly what fraction of stars in the Milky Way have planets of different sizes in orbit around them, with a period of less than 85 days. It is based on the results from Kepler. Kepler has found fewer longer period planets simply because these are harder to detect. Smaller planets are much more common than giant planets.
