1 Open Education Resources

Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning materials that are freely available in the public domain and are specifically licensed for reuse without cost. The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] have supported many OER initiatives. Their definition of OER is:

‘Open Educational Resources are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.’ (William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, 2018)
