Well done. You’re nearly halfway through the course now. This week you’ll do a longer quiz, which will count towards your badge. Last week, you looked at information about the voluntary sector and differences within it, and you explored some data about the financial contribution of the sector. This week’s work continues the financial theme by focusing on who funds voluntary organisations.

Funding is a big concern to voluntary organisations, and it’s very time consuming doing funding applications. You’ll look at who the main types of funding organisations are, and how they provide funding through grants, contracts and donations. And you’ll also find out about the important role of individuals’ donations. Government policy also impacts on voluntary organisations, and you’ll look at some of the key concerns that organisations have about government funding.
