2.3 Some common features of organisations
Many of you will feel that the place in which you work is special. Yet, experience shows that managers in all sorts of organisations outline a very familiar range of management problems that are common. Thus, there is a paradox – each organisation is unique, but all organisations have much in common. All organisations are seeking to resolve a set of common problems: how to divide up the work and, at the same time, integrate it, and how to create a sense of identity.
