This is a photograph of a wall-mounted fan coil unit, which acts as the evaporator for an air-source heat pump system. It takes the form of a white metal box approximately 0.6 metres high, 0.2 metres thick and 1 metre long with a fan approximately 0.5 metres in diameter behind a metal grille. It is shown outdoors in front of a brick wall outside a block of flats. The fan coil draws heat from its location in the external environment, which is then used to heat the inside of the flat.
