Long description

This figure is a pie chart; a type of graph in which a circle is divided into sectors, like the slices of a pie, where each slice represents a proportion of the whole. This pie chart shows the percentage breakdown of the total carbon emissions that arise directly from the direct energy using actions of an average UK inhabitant. The breakdown is as follows. The biggest slice is for transport (including personal flights) at 26 per cent of the total; the second slice is 24 per cent for food and food waste; then 19 per cent for household energy, husing construction and waste management; 16 per cent for consumption of goods;15 per cent for public and government services. The total adds up to 100 per cent.
