Name: GUINOT

What first triggered your interest in environmental issues?

Just thinking as a scientist that we live on a physical world, with physical limits. Limited resources are among those.

What are you working on, concerned by, or motivated by at the moment?

Air pollution and health impacts.

What do you anticipate working on, or thinking about, in relation to environmental issues over the next 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years?

Developing an observation network of urban air pollution in Central China cities: Xi'an, Chengdu by 2011, Chongqing and Wuhan then.

How optimistic or pessimistic are you as you look at where we might be in 2020, and why?

Pragmatic: adaptation is the solution. Adaptation occurs when a crisis happens, or is about to. Since the environmental triggers should not significantly increase by 2020, we won't have moved that far then from where we are today. Education is the best way to properly evolve in the long term.
